I don’t even have to promise to not say Itoldyouso anymore- the takedowns are a brilliant entity of major magnitude, that have taken on a life of their own. Like a 200-eyed drunken kaiju monster would probably do, the takedown pulverized the souls of all attendees, sparing no one its bacon wrath!!!
This was the final stop on the 2012 Bacon Takedown tour – with stops in Austin, Denver, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco… and wherever I went basically they all freaked out all over the place, basically.

True story: What happens when you live in Brooklyn, but your heart is in Chicago? Thanks for asking! Well, I typically like to make love to my own heart in the center of the dance floor at Lincoln Hall, with all the Bacontestants cheering and slapping hi fives. And then also I’m president of the whole United States and I decree from this day forth bacon is the only thing allowed, and all girls get to kiss me. After a good bacon takedown, my dreams are always this true, and prescient!

Here is an artist’s (my) rendition of the horrific things that happened at The Armory in Somerville, that terrible Sunday, August 26 2012- when 10 local hot sauces and 10 local ice creams CLASHED IN UNHOLY MATRIMONY!
It was just like this only even SCARIER! Boston, this was supposed to be fun and innocent! Instead, you melted everyone’s faces off and icecreamed bloody murder!!!

Dudes, what’s hotter than ice cream? And what’s cooler than hot sauce??? The ICAHSTD begs the answers from local hot sauce makers, and then also local ice cream makers… you’re invited to try 10-15 hot sauces AND THEN put out the fire with 10-15 ice creams- and vote on both, separately!
