Um can I just say that wow? Avocados overflowed, streamed out our ears and down the beautiful snowy slopes of Denver- creating a avolanche (same joke twice hmmm) so large that we were all completely and happily squished underneath!!!!
There were “Zippy Muffs”! There was a dude actually named DJ Psycho who basically makes the crap out of some serious Avo Cheeze cake, turns out! There was fudges and jams and soups and cocktails… And Denver did something I’ve never seen before at a takedown: a bunch of the contestants made multiple items with 50 Avocados from Mexico given them each (seriously!) This woman, nay this GODDESS OF FUN Randa Duffy made 4 different dishes!!!! A tart, a colada cocktail, a ravioli, and even empanadas!!!! I am NOT EVEN KIDDING she did all that herself…
READ ON TO FIND OUT THE WINNERS AFTER THE JUMP! The important thing that you have to remember about Denver is that it is ranked as the top most coolest place. The people, in case you didn’t know, are perfect. Everyone was super sweet – and so was the venue, btw!!!! Casselman’s was extra fun!
After the Takedown, I was packing up and a dude with face paint walked by me… and then another. And another… Pretty much the whole place started to smell like Robitussin, because turns out the juggalos (sp?) were in town for their monthly Ultimate Fighting cage match… Not even kidding!!! YIKES. That’s the level of crazy that day was at!!!

If you’re in Denver, here’s some tips: Check out the Denver Museum of Art. The building alone is bonkers- and the art inside is F to the U to the N. And also go to the Museum of Contemporary Art! On their roof is a pigeon coop- and you are invited to take a homing pigeon home, and release it! If you didn’t already know this, pigeons are not “rats with wings” like mean-ass New Yorkers like to say. They are actaully made of magic, which is why they know exactly how to get home, even from a google million miles away! And also if you’re still reading, did you know that the most amazing band Devotchka is from Denver!?? What if you go to a bar and maybe see them! Operation Good Times is mobilized.
